Then he meets Thalia, an alluring but troubled dancing girl who offers him a way out—if he’ll help her kill a powerful nobleman. With the Guild falling apart, it just might be worth the risk. But when you live, breathe, and love in a world that’s forever flirting with death, the slightest misstep can be poison. Poison dance is approximately 14,000 words, or 54 printed pages.
Review: Thank you to Livia Blackburn for providing me with this novella for review! One thing I have to say: if this is what Livia Blackburn's writing is like, then everyone will be clambering to read Midnight Thief (out July 8th, 2014). I was so upset that Poison Dance was only 54 pages! I needed more of this story and Livia's writing. Poison Dance enraptured me! I sped through it and still wanted more.
The romance in this book... in those rare moments that I did see it come up, it was intense and heated. The characters were also a great addition to this novella. If Poison Dance was longer, I would have loved to see the deeper and kinder side of James also.

ReplyDeleteI stay away from novellas because it's like ordering an appetizer as a meal. I never feel completely satisfied. If it were a compilation of 4 in one book, then YES -- all over it.

I don't read novellas usually, but I will be reading the first book in this series if the novella is this dang good! Thank you for your review, and for introducing me to another book to add to my ever growing TBR!
