Can I get a "whoop whoop!"?
In the blogosphere, we have this thing called "Top Ten Tuesdays" and it's sometimes about our Top 10 TBR, must reads, etc. But have you ever wondered if authors have a Top Ten TBR list too? *If you haven't wondered that, this is NOT a good time to say so.* Anyways, I have Michelle here with me today to talk about HER Top Ten MUST READS for 2014. Before you read her very fangirly list, take a peek at her upcoming book.

Summary from Goodreads: If high school is all about social status, Indigo Blackwood has it made. Sure, her quirky mom owns an occult shop, and a nerd just won’t stop trying to be her friend, but Indie is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend and a social circle powerful enough to ruin everyone at school. Who wouldn’t want to be her?
Then a guy dies right before her eyes. And the dusty old family Bible her mom is freakishly possessive of is stolen. But it’s when a frustratingly sexy stranger named Bishop enters Indie’s world that she learns her destiny involves a lot more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn’t get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that’s seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, she’s a witch too.
Suddenly forced into a centuries-old war between witches and sorcerers, Indie’s about to uncover the many dark truths about her life—and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid.
2014 is going to be a hugely exciting year, and not just
because my debut year is finally upon me (WOOO!), but because so many of the incredible books I’ve been
dying to read are finally releasing this year. So many books, in fact, that to
narrow down the list (and to avoid things getting messy), I’ve excluded debuts.
Without further ado, the top 10 books I want to read in 2014,
in no particular order, are:
ASTRAY by Amy Christine Parker. I was blown away by Amy
Christine Parker’s debut novel GATED, about a girl in a modern-day cult who
falls for a boy on the outside, and now I’m dying
to get my hands on the sequel.
CRESS by Marissa Meyer. Marissa Meyer consistently delivers edge
of your seat, swoon-worthy, read-in-a-day books, and I will read anything she writes
for the rest of my life, on release day, sooner if I can harass someone into
giving me an ARC.
PANIC by Lauren
Oliver. Though Delirium was good, I adored BEFORE I FALL and can’t wait to read another
contemporary written by the incomparable Lauren Oliver.
FIRE & FLOOD by Victoria Scott. Amazing Race meets THE HUNGER GAMES? Yes, please. (Confession:
I’ve already read an ARC of this, but it’s on the list anyway because it’s just
THAT GOOD.)
AFTER THE END by Amy Plum. Amy Plum wrote it? Yep, I want to
read it.
ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER by Stephanie Perkins. If I
need to explain this one then I don’t think we can be friends.
THE ONE by Kiera Cass. PRINCE MAXON.
REBEL by Amy Tintera. CALLUM.
RUIN & RISING by Leigh Bardugo. THE DARKLING. STURMHOND.
MAL.

Five of those are among the ones I'm most excited for this year! Cress and Ruin and Rising made my own top ten (made up of books I don't have). Both series are so good! Awesome top ten. :)
ReplyDeleteAll of those books on the top ten sound really good (and almost all of them I'm looking forward to as well), although I feel a little ashamed that I haven't heard of Isla and the Happily Ever After. Gasp! D: And a book about witches... I can roll with that. *u* And the concept sounds reeeeeally good.
ReplyDeleteHexed is indeed an interesting debut worth to be waited for! And Cress also! I am so in love with the covers!
ReplyDeleteHexed is actually one of my most anticipated debuts this year. I love anything to do with witches and magic, so of course Hexed made my wishlist. Also, the main character is described as being really feisty and I love that. I think her top 10 list is also really good, because there are a lot of books I'm waiting on too! I would love it if I could read Cress, Panic and Siege and Storm NOW. Can't wait for them. But my most anticipated 2014 release is Throne of Glass #3 and I just read here that it is not even going to be released in 2014? Nooooooooooooooooo. *sobbing*
ReplyDeleteHexed also made my definitely want to read list!! Plus, Cress. I just need it!
ReplyDeleteHexed sounds awesome!! And a great TBR list. I cannot WAIT for Isla and the Happily Ever After!
ReplyDeleteI'm also really excited for Fire & Flood even though I've read it! I've only just started the series for Ruin and Rising and Cress, so I'm not that excited just yet.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, I'm hoping to be able to read Hexed sometime soon!
I agree with Michelle in quite a few books, like Ruin & Rising, After The End, Fire and Flood, Cress.. And Rebel and The One are also in my list of awaited books, but maybe not as highly awaited.
ReplyDeleteHexed IS in the highly awaited list, I'm still trying to decide if I should preorder it in paper (with the wait for TBD to ship it from UK to Spain) or via Kindle with the instant download at midnight! Decisions, decisions!
Great top ten list! All except Lola and The One are on my list actually! Buuut luckily for me I managed to snag an ARC of Cress and Fire & Flood! Cress is amazing but I need the hardcover, and I hope to read F&F soon!! :D
ReplyDeleteHexed seems like a interesting concept and has a beautiful cover. I loved the top ten list.
ReplyDeleteEvery single book that is on the authors list is on my own, so that makes me feel like I might just love her book! It sounds like my kind of book anyway. I am ready for it! Thanks so much for the giveaway. ALL of your amazing giveaways!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, this book! I must have this book! Michelle is crazy sweet and her Hexed sounds amazing! Also, my TBR and her TBR are almost identical, except for The One and that Stephanie Perkins books. Must. Read. Hexed!
ReplyDeleteLove the cover of this new debut! Some of this books are on my list too:-)
ReplyDeleteThe One is on my list too. I didn't really love the series, but I just have to know what happens. That's how I feel when I get emotionally invested in a character!
ReplyDeleteDede
I want to read this book so bad!
ReplyDeleteAnd the author has a great TBR list!! :)
