They all approve. They approve.

Things are very mysterious with Lori's upcoming book, Gates of Thread and Stone. It doesn't have a cover yet and the synopsis is going to make me faint with longing. Why, oh why, does Lori have to do this to us?

Title: Gates of Thread and Stone
Author: Lori M. Lee
Shelves: Young Adult, Fantasy, Science Fiction
Publication Date: August 5th, 2014
Publisher: Skyscape

Summary from Goodreads: A teenage girl must keep her ability to manipulate the threads of time a secret, but when her brother goes missing, she risks getting caught up in a revolution in order to save him.

What would Lori do?

What would you do if Hogwarts was real but you couldn't attend because you were a muggle?

Cry. Or locate a witch friend through whom I could experience Hogwarts vicariously haha.If Hogwarts was real, then that would imply that all the creatures within the Harry Potter world were real. Part of what draws us to magic is that it’s not a tangible thing. It can’t be measured or quantified or bottled—it exists in that flicker at the corner of your eye, in the dying of the leaves, and the secrets they whisper against your feet when your walk past.

So of course I’d be awed and thrilled if Hogwarts was real, and given the choice, I would probably want it to be true. But I’m glad that we don’t get that choice :)

Lori's giving away a copy of AVALON by Mindee Arnett (releases January 21st) And just as a side note, Lori's already read the sequel. NO FAIR. Just no fair *pouty face*

  1. "Gates of Thread and Stone" looks like an amazing novel! Added to my tbr list:-)

  2. I would freak if Hogwarts was real. I'm pretty sure I would do the same as Petunia and send a letter to Hogwarts begging them to let me in haha. Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. I liked the gif! And as always you make me fall to my knees and worship you for the best giveaways ever!

  4. Wait......what? Hogwarts isn't real????

  5. I WANT A HOGWARTS!!!!! For real.

  6. Gates of Thread and Stone sounds awesome! Defiantly adding to my tbr! =D

  7. Ahhh, Lori is a sweetheart and her book sounds amazing! I can't wait for it! Seriously!!

  8. I agree that I would have to find a friend who could go to Hogwarts. But I would probably cry first too. But I really liked the thoughtfulness of the second part of your answer. And it made me think about whether it would be the same if we could choose to have Hogwarts exist. Thank you for the giveaways and the post!

  9. I cant wait to read Gates of Thread and Stone! I wish we had more information.
I guess we'll have to wait.

  10. Gates of Thread and Stone looks so good, with the information we have of it (which isn't much *pouts*). Super excited to read it!

  11. The premise vaguely reminds of Crewel, but it sounds interesting! Can't wait to learn more about it!

Also, I too would cry if Hogwarts were real.

  12. I'm looking forward to the cover for this one! From the sounds of the book, it seems like it would have a cool cover. :)

  13. I love it when even though a new story is described in one sentence, you immediately want to pick it up because it sounds so good? Ahhhhh. It makes me so happy. This is a good example of that, in my opinion. This book sounds so good! Avalon, of course, sounds good as well. I'm way too excited for too many books at this point I feel like I might explode!! D:
